The BBC reports the creation of a new university, the largest in Wales by some miles, with the merger of University of Wales Cardiff and the University of Wales College of Medicine, to be known as Cardiff University (see the press release). The new university will no longer be a constituent part of the University of Wales (although it will be ‘affiliated’, whatever that’s likely to mean).
