For a day or two, because I have to write my annual progress report for the people who pay my salary. I’ve already put it off so long that I’ve had a polite email enquiring where it’s got to.
This may not be helped by the fact that I’m going for a night out with friends tomorrow (which may turn into a bit of a wake; the best kind, with alcohol and fond memories and laughter). So, basically my penance is no blogging until it’s done.
Urrgh.

It wasn’t a dressing-up type night; we were meeting after work in various archives/scruffy academic types’ meetings. And in any case my wardrobe in London (especially as I’ve been taking stuff home gradually before I move out for good) doesn’t contain much choice… Comfy black ankle boots or comfy sneakers. That’s been about it.
I don’t know why, but it makes me feel a little bit better at some level to know that the students are the only ones putting things off as long as possible to have a good night out. Sometimes we (I) forget that we’re not all that different after all.
Oh, Greg, you don’t know the half of it…
