After bouncing emails to and fro with the support people at the DNB, our people have told me that the Athens subscription to the DNB hasn’t been finally sorted out yet so no I don’t have remote access, only on campus. So why does the electronic resources web page tell me that I do, then? Thanks a bunch.

(I realise that I should probably consider myself lucky to have this access at all, and be grateful that our university is prepared to invest in so many good, and expensive, online resources – not least the OED and EEBO. I’m just pissed off that this misinformation – or pre-emptive information, shall we say – on the Aber IS website has wasted my time, not to mention the poor sods at the DNB who were getting my cranky emails. And I want DNB! I had a fun blogging idea for it!)
