Aesthetics

Does anyone else feel that the font face here looks a bit cramped? It’s difficult, for example, to tell the difference between ‘d’ and ‘cl’ (c l). I’m sure Arial isn’t usually this tightly spaced… [Duh, this isn’t Arial; Verdana is the first choice font] But I can’t remember the code in CSS for varying the space between letters (I can’t even remember the proper ‘technical’ term for this, which would help me to look it up!). Can anyone help?

Update: I think it looks better now, though it takes a bit of getting used to. I can always tweak it back slightly, now I know what I’m looking for. (’letter-spacing’ - difficult, eh? Duh. Thanks, sepoy.)
